I wonder where people in your local community go to relax... (other than to their own lounge)... I know my answer is sadly, "not my local church..." 

If I was to think about where families go to hang out and relax, again, it wouldn't be the church....

Great post. My own church, although very traditional Victorian in design and with pews does put chairs and tables at the front to serve refreshments. They also use the world famous Betty's Tea Rooms coffee and not cheap instant rubbish!

However, I thought you'd like to see what a small Baptist church in NE England is converting their church to encompass. They are centering their church community around children, not adults. It's a bold step, but might make church a lot more appropriate to she young families are! Check the photo on my blog: (see my website link above)
